I Was Framed!!

The "theme" behind each of these pictures is framing.

This picture of JD was taken just this past Easter at his great grand parents house.

The pictures of the observatory were taken on our trip to Big Bend last spring break at the McDonald Observatory.

Both pictures were taken from the same spot of the same subject, but with different techniques. The first picture I blurred the foreground of the trees so you would be driven to focus on the observatory in the background.

In the second picture I decided to bring all the objects in the picture in focus to see the difference in effects.

Here Comes The Sun. :-)

Well, we all know when Winter is ending and Spring is coming you can always look forward to a little fog. On this particular morning the coulds we EXTREMLY low and VERY thick. Knowing the sun was coming, I grabbed the camera as JD and I headed to work in the car.

Now if I were in the passenger seat it would have been easier to take a few snapshots, but since I wasn't I very carefully pointed and snapped a few of what I hoped would be beautiful sunrise shots. Since the car was moving and I was driving I was unable to take a panning shot so I hoped the shutter was set fast enough to freeze the shot.

Out of about 10 shots these 2 were my favorite. What you see in the picture besides the 2 water towers is the Hays Performing Arts Center. Again, that's not the top of the car, that's the clouds hanging like a thick layer of cotton. The first is a little lighter, but you can actually see the clouds. The second is a little darker but the sunrise really stands out more for me and shows how thick the clouds are. Take your pic, I like each for their own unique reasons.

They are a little blurry, but I was going 55 while holding the camera. :)

And so it begins...

So if you are reading this its because you know me. If you know me, then you also know 90% of the time I have my camera with me or somewhere near me.

This is the reason for my blog. When I am taking pictures, I am always asked if I can make a copy of this one or that one. What I never share are the pictures I take when I am practicing. Even though they are practice shots, more and more are showing up on the walls in my house.

For this reason I have decided to share some of the pictures you may never see otherwise.

Hope you enjoy them as much as I do taking them.
